Dr Alexandra McRae

MBBS BSc (Hons), FRANZCOG

Alexandra (Alex) completed her undergraduate medical degree MBBS BSc (Hons) at UNSW in 2001. In addition to her Sydney-based general obstetric and gynaecology training at The Royal Hospital for Women and Royal North Shore Hospitals, she has rural, interstate and international obstetric and gynaecology experience.

Alexandra completed her fellowship training with a focus on paediatric and adolescent gynaecology, minimally invasive surgery and reproductive endocrinology at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital and The Children’s hospital at Westmead, where she continues to hold a clinical post as a paediatric and adolescent gynaecologist.

She also has a public clinical appointment at The Royal North Shore Hospital where she is an obstetric consultant and supervises the registrars at weekly antenatal clinics.

Alexandra is a member of the RANZCOG Board of Examiners, a lecturer for the Diploma in Child Health/International Postgraduate Paediatric certificate on the topic of paediatric and adolescent gynaecology and is regularly invited to lecture GPs, paediatricians and RANZCOG Trainees and Fellows at educational meetings, including the annual NSW RANZCOG pre-membership exam course on topics relating to paediatric and adolescent gynaecology.

Alexandra’s private practice, Before Birth and Beyond Obstetrics and Gynaecology, is located in Sydney’s lower North Shore where she sees antenatal patients and both paediatric and adult gynaecology patients.
